Privacy policy for Safety Computing AS

Your privacy matters to Safety Computing AS. We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law (GDPR). This statement explains how we collect and use personal data when you visit our website, use our services or contact us.

1. What is personal data?

Personal data is any information that can be linked directly or indirectly to a natural person, such as name, email address, IP address and phone number.

3. How do we collect personal data?

  • Directly from you: When you fill in the contact form, sign up for our newsletter or contact customer service.
  • Through the chat: When you write in the chat on our website, we store the messages and any email address or phone number you provide.
  • Automatically through the website: Through cookies when you visit our website, see section 11.
  • From third parties: In some cases we receive information from partners or public registers to manage customer relationships.

4. What personal data do we process?

  • Contact details: Name, email, phone number and company.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser type and visit history (via Google Analytics, only if you have consented).
  • Chat: Messages, any email address or phone number, IP address and browser type.
  • Customer relationship: Billing details, order history and support correspondence.

5. What do we use personal data for?

  • Delivering and managing agreed services and customer relationships.
  • Answering enquiries and providing customer support.
  • Marketing: Sending newsletters via Mailchimp (only if you have consented).
  • Analytics: Improving the website and user experience with Google Analytics (only if you have consented).
  • Ensuring stable operation and security of our systems.

6. Legal basis for processing

  • Performance of a contract: To deliver the services you have ordered.
  • Legal obligation: For example retention under the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act.
  • Legitimate interest: To improve our services, answer enquiries and ensure IT security.
  • Consent: For newsletters and analytics cookies.

7. Data security

We have strict technical and organisational measures in place to protect your data against unauthorised access. These include encryption of the website (SSL), access controls and regular security reviews of our systems. Safety Computing is certified to NS-EN ISO/IEC 27001:2023 (ISO/IEC 27001:2022).

8. Sharing of data and use of sub-processors

We only share personal data with third parties that help us deliver our services. The most important are:

  • Google Analytics: For analysis of website traffic.
  • Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.): For sending newsletters.
  • IT infrastructure: We use established providers such as Microsoft and Citrix for office support and collaboration. For customers, this is governed in more detail by our data processing agreement.

Transfers to third countries (outside the EEA): When using providers such as Google and Mailchimp, data may be transferred to the USA. We ensure such transfers are lawful through the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) or certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

9. Retention

We do not keep personal data longer than necessary for the purpose of the processing.

  • Chat conversations: Deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Contact form enquiries: Kept as long as needed to follow up the enquiry.
  • Newsletter: Deleted immediately if you unsubscribe.
  • Accounting data: Kept for 5 years under the Bookkeeping Act.
  • Customer data: Kept for as long as the agreement lasts, and for a subsequent period to handle claims or statutory archiving.

10. Your rights

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Erasure: Ask us to delete your data (unless we are legally required to keep it).
  • Restriction: Ask us to restrict the use of your data.
  • Data portability: Ask us to transfer your data to another party.

11. Cookies

  • Necessary cookies: We store your choice in the cookie banner (the cookie “sc_samtykke”, kept for 180 days). This is necessary for us to remember your choice.
  • Chat: When you send a message in the chat, your browser stores a random key (“sc_chat_token”) in local storage so the conversation is kept when you move between pages. It is necessary for the chat to work and is not used for tracking.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics helps us see how the site is used. These are only set if you choose “Accept all”.

You can change your choice at any time in the , or in your browser settings.

12. Children’s privacy

Our services are aimed at businesses, and we do not knowingly collect information about children under 18.

13. Changes

We update this statement when needed, for example when our services or the law change. The latest version is always available on our website.
